Ten Tips to improve battery life on Android Smartphones
Google launched it’s latest version of Android named as
Nougat with having version number 7.0 / 7.1. The latest version of Android
brought few very important &
required changes to the base Android. One of these changes was battery life
improvement. Lollipop was known for causing some errors to some devices around
the globe. The most common error in Lollipop was battery life draining. With Marshmallow and Nougat, the company
tried to fix that.

But if you are still struggling with poor battery life on
Marshmallow device then you are at the right place. Here we have discussed some
tips on how to solve battery drain problem in Android Marshmallow and Android
in general.
Restart your Android :
If you are facing problem with battery drain in your
phone,the very first step is restart your device & see some changes.
Although Android Marshmallow comes with Doze mode & App standby that helps
us saving lots of battery but still sometimes we my not get that result which
we were expecting to get. OS whenever you find that your Marshmallow device is
juicing up the whole battery pf your phone, just try a fresh restart of your
device & it will get you some relax.
2. Find apps that are draining battery :
It is also one of the very basic steps to follow when your
Android device is draining the battery. So for this go to settings & hen
battery settings . Here you will find the detailed usage of the battery.. It
will tell you which apps are using the most amount of battery. If you find any
app that is draining your battery, just kill the app or the process if that i
not necessary to you.
3. Turn off the ‘Ambient Display’ feature :
If your phone is now behaving normal in terms of battery
even if yo have followed step given above, then you should try this step which
involved disabling the ‘Ambient Display’ feature in your smartphone running
Marshmallow. In order to turn off Ambient Display, go to Settings > Display and set ‘Ambient
display’ feature to off. This will help in battery drain issue of your device.
It is just a simple way to reduce battery usage through display. It is not as
robust as Motorola’s Moto Display or Nokia’s Glance Screen but it is helpful to
some extent.
4. Try clearing Cache data :
If you have tried all the above listed steps & want to
try more, here’s a new method to save battery drain issue. In this method
you’ll have to do lots of work but have to take care of only one thing i.e.
cache data used by your phone by individual apps. To do this you need to go to
Settings > Apps > select an app > Storage > Clear cache. Another
method to clear is go to Settings > Storage and USB > Cached data >
OK. When we use Android apps & update
them,we get lots of cache data which are nothing but just useless files. It is
very necessary to keep clearing cache files in your Android device because
along with battery drain, they also led your device to slow down.
5. Disable unnecessary apps/bloatware :
If you have ever used a Samsung you will be aware of what a
bloatware is. Bloatware are some unwanted apps that come as pre-installed in
your phone & you don’t have permission to uninstall them. If there is any app that came pre-installed
on your phone & yo never use it, then it’s just eating your memory by running
in the background. SO the best way to get rid of those app s is simply disable
it. This tip is valid for all the devices running any Android version. It is
not necessary to have Marshmallow for this tip.
6. Disable Some
unnecessary Services :
Disabling unwanted apps help in solving battery drain issue.
Along with unwanted apps, there are some unnecessary services too that keep
running in background & eat our phone’s battery power. Disabling some
network connections, location services & some other services will help you
a lot. We will recommend our readers to
turn off Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, and cellular data etc
when not in use. If you no longer require network, you can use flight mode
also. This will help to save you most of the battery.
7. Try another Launcher :
Sometimes there is an stability error with the stock
launcher or any third party launcher if you are using on your device. SO now is
the time you should try changing the launcher you are using. If you give it a
try you might see some interesting changes in the battery performance in you
Android Marshmallow device.
8. Disable some Background Apps :
If you are done with all the above listed steps & want
to achieve more improvement in battery performance of your Marshmallow device.The
you should try disabling some background service like location, image
downloading, WhatsApp, Hike ,Facebook Twitter, Email & some other very
popular social messaging services which keep running in background. Anyways
Facebook is known to be very battery hungry app on Android as well on iOS
platform. It was causing huge battery issue in iOS 9 when launched.
9. Try Battery Saver mode :
Marshmallow came with major battery drain improvements like
Doze mode, priority mode, Optimized mode etc. We have another very necessary
feature called ‘Battery Saver’ mode which automatically adjusts the display
& other parameters that are draining your battery. Battery Saver first of
all tries to reduce the brightness & kill some background processes that are
running in background but not being used. So this helps in saving of our
battery. When you turn on the battery saver mode, the navigation bar & the
notification bar becomes orange in color . It indicated that battery saver is
on.
10 . Try a Factory Reset :
If you are done with all the steps listed above & want
to get more battery, then these is the ‘Factory Reset’ step for you. This is
very easy to perform Factory reset but after factory reset, you’ll need lots of
data in terms of WiFi or Mobile internet to get all the updates & install
